A day at the Beauty Parlor...

Another eventful weekend!!
I woke up Saturday morning at the crack of dawn. Just because it's the weekend doesn't mean mommy gets to sleep in! As always, as soon as I heard her move around in her bed, I started my usual whining until she took me outside. No, of course I didn't have to go that badly, but I don't want to waste any of my time with her when she is actually home instead of at work! After I had inhaled my breakfast- I thought it was going to be another lazy weekend day at home sleeping on the couch and listening to her Classic Rock. Boy, was I wrong! Before I had even finished licking my bowl, she stuck my leash back on and we were off!
After walking for what seemed like an ETERNITY we arrived at a place called "PetCo"... apparently they say it's "where the pet's go"- but, if you ask me.... it's really more like "where the humans force their pets to go". I was immediately handed over to someone I have never met before and my mom was told to come back in an hour and a half. And she LISTENED to them! For all she knew, they could've held me captive, or "dog-napped" me.... although, I have heard her say that no one would ever "take" me because of my "stellar" behavior. And, if I were ever taken, I would be returned within a day because no one else would want to deal with me. I take that as a personal compliment, thank you very much! Well, of course I had to show her who was the one in charge! By the time mommy returned, every person working in that place knew my name! I am quite the popular little Bully! Well, after all their fussing over this adorable little face... they did the unthinkable! I was sprayed down with a hose and doused in sweet smelling soap! It was a horrifying , traumatic experience that I wish to never experience again (although, mommy told me that it is going to be at least bi-monthly occurrence from now on). However, I DID get a new bed out of the whole fiasco. And then, I had to make the long trek back home. To say I was tired and panting would be an understatement.... we passed a few other walkers on the way and mommy had to assure them that we had really only been walking for about 5 minutes.... pshh- 5 minutes seems like an eternity when you've spent your whole morning being primped at the beauty salon!
Well, the rest of my day was fairly uneventful, other than the fact that I was actually allowed within a 10 foot radius of mommy! After my beauty bath, we went home and chilled on the deck in the B-E-A-UUUTIFUL sunshine!

Shoe shopping

This morning mommy left her closet doors open. I took the opportunity to see what her whole obsession was with "shoes" and decided to do a little "browsing" of my own. After digging through pile upon pile of shoes, I came to the conclusion that they just don't do these beautiful paws justice. Not to mention- can you believe it- she doesn't have one set of 4 matching shoes!

I did find quite a few pairs that I took a fancy to, though. And, once I realized that they wouldn't fit quite right on my paws, I found that they fit much better in my mouth. I've tasted many of her shoes before, but I found a few new killer pairs of heels that needed a good "breaking in". Since she seemed to be busy getting ready for work- and me, being the sweet little angel that I am- I kindly took it upon myself to relieve her of the burden and set to work. She sure does have some good "taste" in shoes (no pun intended).

Weekend excursions

Another "normal weekend" in my busy life. Saturday, mommy got me a new bed. After I finally figured out how to maneuver myself up onto it (it's quite fluffy), I spent the next hour scratching and pushing it around the living room until I got it just how I wanted- bent in half lying in the middle of the floor, of course.

After the novelty of having a new bed wore off, I figured it was time to find something else to get into. First, while mommy took a shower, I decided to rip up the newspaper that she had so foolishly left on the floor. Then, it was my lucky day! I found a wooden chopstick in the kitchen- mommy still doesn't know how I found it mwuah ha ha- But, I chewed and chewed that up into little pieces (although, I was definitely regretting that later on when we went outside to go to the bathroom!)

After she had cleaned up from all of my activities, I think she was proud of all my hard work and strapped my leash on! We walked for a LONG 10 minutes and lo and behold! We came to a HUGE park that was covered in green stuff (mommy told me it is called "grass"). Oh it was glorious! She took off my leash and I leaped and bounded my way toward all the other dogs! One of the other humans there threw a ball, and I was the lucky one to catch it! After that... none of the other dogs came near me (mommy says it's because I growled at them, I think they're just jealous of my good looks and that I caught the ball). Well, I decided that I didn't need all those other dogs around to have a good time! So, while mommy talked on the phone, I took my ball into the corner of the park and continued to rip it apart and eat it- quite a tasty appetizer for my dinner! After such a great outing, I realized that we had to walk all the way back home. Needless to say, I was panting and exhausted by the time we made it back. Quite a long journey just to eat a ball! That pretty much was the end of me for the rest of the night. But, I did have a nice comfy bed perfectly positioned for me when we got home!
